Needham Bank Donates $7K To Newman Playground Project
Needham Bank, with five branches throughout the greater Boston area is proud to announce its support of Needham’s Newman Elementary School Playground.
Slated to open in September, the new playground will replace the former Newman Elementary School playground, which was found to be in non-compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This discovery, coupled with the general disrepair of the playground, led to the decision by school officials to demolish the former site and build a new playground.
Project fundraising has been spearheaded by the Playground Committee, a group of parents and school faculty, including Mary Kelley, who said the new playground “will be fully integrated and adaptive to the needs of all children, including those with disabilities.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Needham Bank for their generous support,” Kelley said. “They really put a lot of wind in our sails; not only has Needham Bank supported us financially, they have been a great advocate for this important project.”
