Local Student Participates in Summer Institute in France

Andrew Duehren of Needham, a freshman at Boston College High School, recently participated in Boston College High School’s Summer Immersion Program in Lyon, France.

Duehren spent three weeks living with a French family, taking classes at Centre Saint Marc, the Jesuit High School of Lyon, and learning of the city’s rich history which dates back to antiquity.

Among the sites visited were the Roman Amphitheatre, the Gallo Roman and Fine Arts Museums and the Center of French Resistance and Deportation.

The trip culminated with a three-day excursion to Paris where Andrew toured such historical monuments as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Chateau of Versailles.

The French Summer Institute is part of Boston College High School’s Global Education Program, which also includes programs in Argentina, China and Ireland.

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863. The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts. For more information, visit http://www.bchigh.edu.
