We extend our gratitude to Lizzy’s Ice Cream for generously recognizing the contributions of volunteers in Needham Youth Services’ Peer Tutor Program.

In the Peer Tutor Program, high school students volunteer to tutor students in third through eighth grades on a weekly basis throughout the school year.

In the 2011-12 academic year, we had 50 tutors who generously provided up to 40 hours of service each. In addition to the academic support they provided, they served as wonderful mentors and positive role models for the younger students.

As the school year comes to a close, Lizzy’s has kindly provided an appreciation gift of a free cone to each of this year’s tutors.
