  • Name: Ruach Israel
  • Occasion: Lag B'Omer, Day of celebration

Although the counting of the Omer is generally a solemn period, the 33rd day of the the Omer, Lag B'Omer, is a day of celebration! Lag B'Omer is a special day to honor current scholars and to remember the great scholars of the past.

At Ruach Israel, our Shabbat School Kita Gimmel will be presenting the scripture verses they've been learning throughout the year. In Israel Lag B'Omer is traditionally celebrated with picnics, bon fires, and bow and arrow games. Although we won't be having a bon fire or be shooting bow and arrows at Ruach, our oneg that day, Saturday, May 1, 10 a.m., there will be in a picnic theme.

So please join us, bring a dairy picnic dish, and have fun!
