During December 2012 all Needham Elementary School students will see performances by the Jazz group “Made In The Shade”. Students will be taken on a musical journey through the world of Jazz, from its origin and musical roots to more contemporary styles. These concerts are sponsored by the Needham Creative Arts Council (NCAC), with generous funding from the Needham Education Foundation (NEF).

The NEF is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit organization that raises funds for the enrichment of public school children in Needham. The NCAC is an umbrella group for all the PTC Creative Arts and Curriculum Enrichment Committees in Needham. Each year a Creative Arts educational program is chosen for a series of concerts at school assemblies.

Following the December concerts, “Made In The Shade” will return to Needham in February for an evening “Mardi Gras” Concert to benefit future NCAC programs.
