Fourth District Democratic Caucus Set Saturday in Newton

Democrats from the Fourth Congressional District will gather this Saturday, April 21 at Mount Ida College to elect delegates to the 2012 Democratic National Convention.  

According to an e-mail from the Newton Democratic City Committee, the new Fourth Congressional District will elect four male Democrats, four female Democrats and one alternate Democrat to the Convention. Here's who is running for delegate this year.

Candidates and elected officials from around the district will also be on hand to chat with local Democrats.

The caucus will be held in the Mount Ida athletic building and is open to all registered Democrats in the Fourth District. 

The event, which is hosted by Newton Mayor Setti Warren, begins at 1 p.m. Registration starts at noon.
