First 'Bike To the Market Day' Set For Aug. 5
Sunday will be the first Needham Farmers Market Bike to the Market Day.
The first 25 people to bicycle to the market will receive a $2 coupon to use at the Needham Farmers Market on Sunday, Aug. 5. This offer is limited to the first 25 people who bicycle to the Market—limit one coupon per family. Make sure to come to the market manager’s tent to get your coupon, as the supply of $2 coupons is very limited.
Speaking of healthy transportation choices: Market-goers are encouraged to stop by the Rail Trail table at the Aug. 5 market. The Needham Rail Trail Committee is working with the Bay Colony Rail Trail (www.baycolonyrailtrail.org) to convert miles of unused rail corridor into a shared use path. The planned shared use includes bicycling, jogging, strolling and more. The 2-mile Needham Rail Trail portion would run through the Needham Town Forest, past Red Wing Bay, to the Charles River Peninsula at the Dover line. Come and learn more!
The Needham Farmers Market is a great way to shop locally—meet the growers, support your local businesses and catch up with neighbors and friends.
Also on Sunday, Aug. 5, there will be a local artisan, Sheryl Scipione, and music by Euphonium Trio.
Opening bell is at 1 p.m. The Farmers Market will be open until 5 p.m. Location is the front lawn of First Parish in Needham. Plenty of free, on-street parking is available.
