Community Theatre to Hold ‘Ramona’ Auditions

  • January 10, 2011

Needham Community Theatre announces auditions for its spring production of Ramona Quimby, an award-winning play based on the Ramona stories of Beverly Cleary.

Big sister Beezus narrates this collection of vignettes that trace the independent and exasperating Ramona Quimby’s tumultuous passage through third grade and through her family relationships.  Auditions will be held Jan. 30 & February 1 at 6:30 p.m. for children (age 8+) and 8:00pm for adults at the Needham Presbyterian Church, 1458 Great Plain Avenue in Needham. Callbacks will be on Feb. 2.

Children auditioning for only ensemble will participate in improvisation exercises. For children auditioning for named roles and all adults, auditions will consist of readings from the script.  A copy of the script is available at the Reference Desk at Needham Public Library.
