At its April 5 meeting, the Needham Exchange Club honored local resident Alison Smith with its fourth Youth of the Month Award for 2012.

Smith is a graduating senior at Needham High School. She is the daughter of Andrew Smith of Charlton and Nancy Smith of Needham.

Smith was one of the Exchange Club 2011 Community Service Award winners during her junior year, recognized for her work with Best Buddies. She maintains a high academic average and is active in community service projects and sports. She also works weekends.

The Exchange Club provides recognition to graduating high school seniors in its Youth of the Month and Youth of the Year programs. Additionally, its scholarship program provides recognition and financial assistance for graduating seniors.
